Project: Virtual Ayutthaya Client: University of Melbourne Summary: Osmosis collaborated with geomatics experts at Melbourne University to reconstruct the ancient Thai capital of Ayutthaya, the Golden City. Working from reference photos taken of the site and written records, Osmosis reconstructed one of the main sacred structures, Wat Ratchaburana, and its immediate surrounds. The project also included the reconstruction of the Great Throne Hall in the Royal Palace, which was totally destroyed by fire. Live video footage of traditional Thai dancers was then composited into the digital throne hall model.
